It was a sunny day in Germany when the riders lined up to start this beatiful race....The Schwedt Classic.
Early on,Titus Stauffer tried to break with Kutas Viktor following shortly after,starting a long fight towards the finishling line.
Thats when the interesting story began.
Hours after the race,we let one lucky riporter inside the team bus.
Here's most of the interview:
As the team sat down in the back of the bus,around a small table with The teams manager Raymond on the left,our captain Viktor in the middle,and the teams sprinter Zsebe Aurél on the right.
-First of all i'd like to ask you Viktor... .It seems like your racing style has changed,hasnt it?
-Definitely.As soon as i saw Titus accelerate i knew i cant let him go,no matter if he is alone or with companions.
Suprisingly we were left alone in the front,just 2 of us.It was only 12 km after the start so i guess they tought the same like i did in Brazil.
-You guys didnt attack each other trough the whole stage,it was really strange for some of the watchers.
-We had a little chat after our "duo break" and agreed on that if we work together we can make something out of this.If any of us would try to loose the other i guess the pack would catch us easily.There wasnt even a single attack from either of us until the sprint.
-You might heard on the radio that 16 teams were working against you.
-Yes,Aurél told me on the radio that the guys in the pack were chit-chatting about the chasing,shortly after many of the teams sent their guys to the front.
(Riporter turns to Aurél,gives him the microphone)
-It was scary to see how well organized 16 teams can get in a few minutes... .It was even scarier to see that Viktor and Titus kept increasing the gap,making those efforts on the front totally worthless.
I listened to our radio:
-1:30....2:00...3:00 it went up to 6 minutes and after that it started to go down until 4 minutes difference,but it was too late for them,they spotted the 10km sign...
The teams tried to pull the pack,but the gap just become bigger and bigger.
It must have shocked them(smiles)
-I would like to ask the teams manager,What are your toughts about the race?
-To be quite short,we saw 2 riders against 16 teams working together...I guess that tells everything
-One final question to Viktor.Was it a big experience for you?
-Surely it was,Titus is a great rival,and a big sportsman.We will have plenty of opportunity to face each other.
It was an amazing race...
